Being outdoors – on the Chesapeake Bay, in Acadia National Park, visiting other parks and gardens – was part of the family fabric. Likewise was a love of learning: Jack and Jean found great joy in supporting their children and grandchildren in their formal educations, and then in watching them craft their personal paths of study and vocation.
